A return to my roots

Updates: mapping climate data from historic ships & global harmonization follow respectively herehere.

"You can get Andrew outa maps, but you can't get maps outa Andrew" quipped a GIS map friend when I left Kuwait a dozen years ago... Well after quitting socials, Esri(UK) graciously helped me recover my desktop app. While I lost my story maps and web maps content, I maintained a free dev account - story maps and maps&data - this was chiefly to preserve my Living Atlas content inspired by John Nelson

Since East Anglia sea level rise and flooding were my "thing" in the past five years, imagine my pleasure to find one based on NOAA explained in the re-posted map details :

This is a user-friendly web-service-only rendition of a comprehensive DIY on the desktop here: NOAA elevation data model sea level rise by elevation tranches at estimated time intervals from IPCC models explained at the end here. Note that the original story maps and web maps are no longer available: this free developper account posts only data-frugal web services. See also a layman's version here on Medium.

This follows a series of blog posts on sea level rise & flooding in the context of  climate emergency in East Anglia c/w Build your Own guides to encourage Citizen Science. The same was done for the pandemic: Personal highlights were a YouTube livestream on pivot&fan maps, and two  "30 Day Map Challenge" in 2020 and 2021... Enjoy!
