Be your own weatherman

Dust storms are what you look out for in Kuwait. The banner map was a very simple way for me to create my own weather map:
  1. where are the dust clouds?
  2. what is the wind direction?
  3. when will Kuwait get one?
Being a pretty small country, a good dust storm can envelope it, like it did last March. I got caught out walking on the Corniche, when it came in so quickly that I took refuge in a nearby building for two hours until it blew over. The closest happened to be a Burger King on the waterfront... so no-one was in want of food, drink or facilities.  And this video is no science fiction but Kuwait City from a skyscraper rooftop...

2015 Update:

Note: Kuwait is in the upper left hand corner at the head of the Arabian Gulf (do not call it Persian Gulf, away from Iran at least, even if maps still say so from colonial era)
